Our Troop
Meetings: - Tuesdays from 7:15pm - 8:30pm at St. John's located across from Naperville Central High
School.
- We assign each patrol a role in the meeting.
There are four roles including setup, opening,
game, and clean-up.
Troop Size: - We currently have 48 registered scouts.
The troop size varies between 40 and 50 scouts.
- Our goal is to add about 10 new scouts
each year.
- The troop consists primarily of scouts
from Naperville's school districts 203 and
204.
Troop Organization: - The troop is organized into 5 patrols,
with a mixture of ages in each.
- New scouts wil be set up into a "new
scout patrol" for approximately six
months, working closely with the scoutmasters.
- Meetings are "Scout Run" by the
senior scouts in the troop.
- Ten scouts became Eagle in the last four
years.
- We currently have one Scoutmaster, and
seven Assistant Scoutmasters.
Troop Activities: - We have 13 monthly activities planned
for the 2009-2010 year, including 9 troop
campouts and summercamp at Camp Ransburg
in Indiana.
- In July 2007 we went to Sea Base in the
Florida keys for the Out Island Adventure.
- In July 2008 we went to Philmont Scout
Ranch in New Mexico.
- The 2009 high adventure outing was going to
Northern Tier High Adventure Base in Minnesota.
- Currently no 2010 high adventure has been arranged by our high adventure chairman.
- The troop is well equipped with tents,
cooking gear, and a huge bright red trailer
for our scouts to use during camping outings.
